Rafael Nadal says he and his family are “very well” after he became father to a baby girl.
The Spaniard’s wife and his two children are currently eight months away from their first birthday. Nadal and his wife, Angelique, had planned to celebrate the daughter’s first birthday together in 2017.
But the birth of their baby girl, named Olivia in Spanish, has now put an end to that, reports the Mirror.
The news of the new arrival came as a surprise to Nadal. He previously gave the newspaper an update on the pregnancy, but said that it was “a surprise but good news,” adding: “We are very well.”
Nadal previously revealed he and Angelique had a girl who they were aiming for in 2017.
Nadal has been in a relationship with Angelique since 2005. He met the French tennis player at a tournament, and they have a son together, Lucas, who was born in 2008.
He has previously been quoted as saying that he was “very happy” with his relationship with Angelique.
Angelique, who is a French fashion model, has been dating Rafael since their relationship began in 2005.
The couple have a daughter, Lucas, who was born in 2008.
Both Nadal and Angelique have previous children, with Lucas’ daughter being born in 2008 and Nadal’s son being born in 2008.
The 28-year-old had previously been reported as saying: “The first time I saw the baby [Lucas] after birth I was blown away! She has a beautiful face and I want her to be more beautiful than her mother!”
