CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute premieres Sunday, October 14th at 9pm on CNN

CNN ‘s newest documentary, CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute, featuring the Oneida Indian Nation, will premiere Sunday, October 14th at 9pm on CNN.

The all-star live tribute, which is back by popular demand after delivering the most watched non-sports telecast on cable in 2018, will showcase the world’s most inspiring people from a variety of fields who have changed the world. CNN Hero Cheryl Lenhart makes her one-hour TV debut as a host.

Celebrating its tenth year in 2019, CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute will see some of the most powerful champions, from the fields of entertainment, sports, activism, education, business, and more, who have inspired many people both on and off the planet, featured in a completely new format: as one-hour films that will be broadcast to air live from New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.

The world premiere event will feature personal stories and share personal moments that showcase how they have changed the world, personal stories of their road to becoming an activist, and how their heroes’ stories have inspired them. These short films, made with the amazing talent of renowned editor and filmmaker Charles Gregory (Emmy Award-winning producer, creator of the Emmy Award-winning epic television production Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight, and Academy Award winner, DGA President Emeritus, Jack Larson), were conceived and produced in coordination with the talent, stories, and families we are featured this year.

The film’s first hour will capture the achievements of CNN Heroes from the fields of health and medicine, activism, entertainment, business, and more. In this first hour, this historic year celebrates a diverse array of champions across all industries and professions – and their inspiring stories of perseverance and resilience.

In the second hour, CNN Heroes will reflect on who these 2018 champions are and share incredible glimpses into their lives and how they use their passions and passions to inspire others. Their stories will also celebrate why their heroes’ stories continue to inspire millions of people, from becoming an activist, to excelling in education, to being the greatest doctor, mentor, and philanthropist they can be.

The celebration has not lost sight of its fearless mission to spotlight those who are humble heroes who, instead of giving in to all of the challenges that life brings, have embraced it all and moved forward. The legacy that CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute aims to build, through this celebration of the human spirit, is of giving back and of making the world a better place.
